Internships

Take a year out and join alongside the staff team. There are plenty of different opportunities to get involved in various areas of church life and the running of the building in the week. We value working as one body to glorify God in everything that we do at BCC and love having people come alongside to help us in that.

Hear from some of our previous interns about their time with us!

Ollie

My time as an intern at the church, which I started in September 2025, has been so fulfilling. It has been incredibly rewarding to see the social media presence of BCC grow with my help and the management of the social media accounts is a skill I can take with me.

As part of my internship, I have also been involved with helping at Alpha twice. I have loved getting to know people who are searching and helping on their first steps in their faith journey.

Having been part of the family here for my whole life, I had never considered doing an internship here, but it has been such a rewarding year.

Callie

My internship at BCC was invaluable. Through excellent teaching, mentorship, and discipleship, I was encouraged to grow personally and in ministry. I was given opportunities to explore new areas of ministry, and the experience equipped me for God’s call to study at Moorlands. Now I am a part of the team here at BCC and it is thanks to the family at the church that I love what I do.

Saffron

In 2018 I was the BCC communications intern fresh out of uni. For a year in my life where I was still working out what I wanted to do, my time with BCC was most memorable for the support and encouragement I received as part of the team. Eight years later, I'm now training for priesthood in the Anglican Church and I still remember the team sessions led by Rog. The humility and wisdom he and other leaders taught with has stayed with me, as well as some of the advice on time management!

Tona

My story of being a intern after retiring from nursing begins prior to starting the internship itself, with some serious prayer in dealing with the fear of rejection. Thank you God.

I was looking to develop a dementia friendly church. BCC accepted my vision and to my surprise I was also able to come along side the team that were leading the Seniors Mid-Week Group. I also had a vision of live streaming services to break down the barriers of social isolation some of the seniors struggled with, and when Covid-19 came, this ministry was even more important!

During the academic year I was prayed with, supported and challenged. Several years later, both ministries are still going strong and I have become a member of the Staff Team. Thank you Lord.

Daniel

I completed a 1 year internship at BCC from September 2016 - August 2017. During this time ‘Release’ (a gathering of 20-30 year olds across the church) was birthed. ‘Release’ consisted of monthly socials (at a local café or at people’s homes, a film night, an open mic evening, beach bbq and games), a fortnightly Life Group (Bible study, prayer and discussion) and termly Ministry Meetings (in depth teachings on topics such as prophecy, Israel, hearing God’s voice). The heart for ‘Release’ was to create a space to bring young adults together to grow faith and see God‘s release in every area of our lives! ‘Release’ ran for over two and a half years and we were blessed to see God cause it to bear much fruit; friendships were forged and deepened, faith grown and strengthened and even marriages resulted… Praise God!

School for Discipleship

Alongside our internships we offer a once a week theology and discipleship course run by the SfD team with Lansdowne Church. It is a great opportunity to work closely with like-minded Christians and to learn more about church life and runs for the whole year, with day trips to London and Oxford included.
